Finance leaders need to embed finance across your company to allow your finance team to achieve its objectives, support the wider business and deliver your financial business plan.
The starting point for this is to build strong relationships with other teams and communicate effectively on a regular basis. This keeps everybody informed of progress and ensures that each team receive the financial insights required to successfully achieve their goals.
Finance teams need to collaborate with other departments to build bridges between each team and encourage people to solve problems together. Different perspectives will contribute to better solutions and will create trusted relationships across the workforce.
To support other teams, finance needs to properly understand the activities of each department and generate open dialogue regarding each person’s biggest challenges. This allows you to identify ways to solve their problems and create tailored reports that provide maximum benefit to the end user.
Most non-finance people have very limited knowledge of how finance works and the financial implications of their actions. To address this, you need to spend time educating each department and sharing constructive feedback examples that highlight the financial consequences of their behaviours.
During this module, we will look at each aspect of embedding finance across the company. By working closely with each department, finance leaders and their teams can embed a financial culture across the wider business and focus the workforce on helping to achieve your company’s financial objectives.
