From professional footballer to a corporate & investment focused career at Channel 4, before securing his first CFO role at Festicket, it has been quite a journey.
Matt shared how he navigated this journey and specifically focused on the experiences gained in a very eventful first 3 years as a Scaleup CFO. Matt has both led significant growth at one of the UK’s top 10 fastest growing companies (The Times TechTrack 100 and FT 1,000) and the response to Covid-19 where the business effectively ceased to trade for a period.
During the last three years, Matt has:
1. Raised over £25m of capital post-Series D scale up financing – Crowdfunding & VC;
2. Led the acquisitions of B2C platform Ticket Arena and B2B SAS provider Event Genius;
3. Delivered >200% growth in revenue;
4. Supported international expansion in Europe, the USA and Australia; and
5. Orchestrated the companies realignment during COVID-19 to deliver accelerated path to profitability.
